IDE Issaka Re-Elected as President of the African Taekwondo Union

 

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (Apr 24, 2025) – Mr. IDE Issaka has been re-elected as President of the African Taekwondo Union (AFTU) for a second term, covering the period from 2025 to 2029. His re-election reflects the renewed confidence placed in his leadership, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to the development and promotion of Taekwondo across the African continent. 

 

Under Mr. Issaka’s leadership, AFTU has expanded its reach and deepened its impact, promoting excellence, unity, and collaboration among its member nations. His second term is expected to further consolidate Taekwondo’s role as a powerful tool for social development, youth empowerment, and athletic achievement in Africa.

 

AFTU reappointed Mr. Balla Dieye as Secretary General. 

 

The Elective General Assembly of AFTU took place on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
