CHUNCHEON, Korea (Aug 20, 2023) - The third day of the Gangwon Chuncheon 2023 World Taekwondo Cultural Festival saw the conclusion of the Octagon Diamond Game, Demonstration Team Championships and Beach Championships.  

 

In the World Taekwondo Octagon Diamond Game, men competed in the -68kg and +80kg and women in the -57kg. The M-68kg saw Jonn hyun Yun from Korea overcome Jaehyuk Lim from Korea in the final. Bronzes went to Hikmatullah Zain from Afghanistan and Min yeong Lee from Korea. In the +80kg Ryong woo Li from Korea won gold as he overcame Young-seok Kim from Korea in the final. Hamzah omar Saeed of Pakistan and Hayk Amirbekyan of Canada shared the bronze medals.  

 

In the World Taekwondo Beach Championships, a full day of competition saw medals awarded across 17 categories. Click here to check full results.

 

Finally in the World Taekwondo Demonstration Team Championships Teams from Korea won gold and silver for the freestyle performance. Bronze went to Italy and Vietnam.  

 

The festival will continue tomorrow with the World Para Taekwondo Open Challenge which will run through to August 22.  

 

World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue gave appointment certificates to International Referees of four different competitions of Gangwon Chuncheon 2023 World Taekwondo Cultural Festival to recognise their performances.  

 

The second edition of the Gangwon Chuncheon World Taekwondo Cultural Festival will be held in July next year with the return of the Octagon Diamond Game, Demonstration Team Competitions and World Para Taekwondo Open Challenge.
