World Taekwondo signs MoU with K-DOC to support provision of medical services for the Global Taekwondo Family

SEOUL, Korea (May 21, 2024) - World Taekwondo has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with K-DOC Co. Ltd, a Korean medical services company, that will see the two organisations work together on global expansion of medical services in Taekwondo.

The MoU was signed by World Taekwondo President Dr. Chungwon Choue and Mr. Seung-Kook CHO, chairman of K-DOC, and covers a three-year period.

It will see K-DOC become the official medical cooperation institute for World Taekwondo. K-DOC will provide overseas medical services requested by World Taekwondo, and the two parties will cooperate on the supply of telemedicine and medical volunteers.

This agreement will be particularly useful in supporting the work of World Taekwondo and its charitable arm the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation in its projects with refugees and orphans around the world.

Launched in 2015 to empower refugees through Taekwondo, the THF is now established in seven countries and has received significant acclaim for its work in helping to improve displaced persons’ quality of life. Some of its projects operate in remote locations, which makes the MoU signing valuable for supporting the provision of medical services.

World Taekwondo President and THF Chairman Dr. Chungwon Choue welcomed the MoU with K-DOC.

“Today’s Memorandum of Understanding with K-DOC Co. Ltd will benefit the global Taekwondo family. In particular, the work of the THF is extremely important in providing opportunities through Taekwondo to refugees, and we are grateful for the support of K-DOC which will strengthen the provision of the necessary medical services to all of its projects,” Dr. Choue said.
