SEOUL, Korea (Mar. 18, 2024) - World Taekwondo is deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Park Dong-sook, the widow of the late International Olympic Committee (IOC) Vice President and former World Taekwondo President Dr. Kim Un-yong.

Mrs. Park passed away on March 15, 2024 due to illness. To respect the wishes of Mrs. Park, who has always been a frugal and down-to-earth person, a private family memorial service was held on March 17, 2024.

Mrs. Park was the lifelong companion of Dr. Kim in the development of sports and the globalisation of Taekwondo. In her last years she quietly and selflessly devoted herself to her family.
