The taekwondo session at the 13th United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) Youth Leadership Program (YLP), which was held on February 8, 2015 at Honam University in Gwangju, Korea, was a resounding success.

The taekwondo event was part of the 12-day UNOSDP Youth Leadership Program, which ran from February 2 to 13. The program drew a total of 32 participants, aged between 18 and 25. Among the participants was including one disabled person. Participants from 15 countries in the Asia and the Oceania regions travelled to Korea to attend the event where they received theoretical and practical training.

Sung-ki, Jeong, taekwondo planning manager of the Asian Taekwondo Union, who facilitated the program, said, "All participants were passionately committed to class and UNOSDP Youth Leadership Program must proceed consistently."

The concept of the UNOSDP Youth Leadership Program is to support young people around the world by providing them with opportunities to engage in sport as a means of contributing to the development of the society.
