OUTLINE FOR 2016 RIO OG IR SELECTION & TRAINING CAMP

Outline for 2016 Rio OG IR Selection & Training Camp

1. Purpose of Camp: To select 50 best IRs from 5 continents for Grand Prix Series in 2015 and Rio OG Continental Qualification Tournaments in 2016, and finally to select IRs for 2016 Rio OG taekwondo competition

2. Outline:

1)      No. of camps: three (3)

2)      Period: between February and April 2015

3)      Places & Dates:

(1) CAMP one : Aguascalientes, Mexico (March 16-19, 2015)

(2) CAMP two : Moscow, Russia (April 3-6, 2015)

(3) CAMP three : Fujairah, U.A.E. (April 23-26, 2015)

4)      Size of the camp (No. of total invited IRs): total maximum 260

* Maximum no. of IRs invited per nation : 7

(1) CAMP one : Pan America : maximum 60

(2) CAMP two : Europe & Africa : maximum 100 (70 from Europe + 30 from Africa)

(3) CAMP three : Asia & Oceania : maximum 100 (85 from Asia + 15 from Oceania)

5)      No. of IRs to be selected from camps: total 50

(1)   Pan America   : 10

(2)   Europe & Africa : 20 (15 from Europe + 5 from Africa)

(3)   Asia & Oceania : 20 (16 from Asia + 4 from Oceania)

6)      Duration of camp: 3 nights and 4 days (excluding check-in and check-out days)

7)      Participation Fee: US$100 per IR should be paid to the WTF

      (During the camp, room and board of participants will be covered by OC)

8)      Method of IR participation: Only invitation basis by the Referee committee & WTF Referee Division

Criteria of invitation :

a. 3rd class or higher

b.1. IRs who completed refresher course from 2012 to 2014 or

2. IRs who obtained IR certification from 2012 to 2014 and

c. IRs who paid up to 2014 IR dues

d. IRs who selected 2013 World Taekwondo Championships

e. Recommended by MNA presidents or

f. WTF Referee Committee and WTF Referee Division shall invite IRs from MNA’s IR recommendation list based on IR’s experience and skill together with English communication skill

g. If WTF Referee Committee and WTF Referee Division could not find the appropriate IRs from MNA’s IR recommendation list, WTF Referee Committee and WTF Referee Division shall select the best IRs from WTF IR database.

9)      Evaluation of participating IRs: 3-member Evaluation Committee will evaluate IRs during all three camps and make recommendation to WTF President within two weeks after each camp.

4. Tests to be conducted:

-       Medical Check-up (Eye sight, Blood Pressure, Hearing)

-       Physical Test (Agility, Reflex, 50m sprint)

-       Written Test

-       English Oral Test

-       Game Management Test

-       Cognitive Abilities Test

-       Scoring Test

 

Any IR who does not mark passing score on test for medical check-up or physical test, he or she will not be considered as an Olympic referee.
