World Taekwondo has been informed that Fernanda Aguirre from the Chilean National Olympic Committee tested positive for COVID-19 and has been placed in isolation. In accordance with the Tokyo 2020 Sport-Specific Regulations.

Given there was time for re-allocation, World Taekwondo has confirmed with the Costa Rican National Olympic Committee that the place will be re-allocated to Neshi Lee Lindo Alvarez based on her third place finish at the Pan American Olympic Qualification Tournament. World Taekwondo wishes Aguirre a full and quick recovery.
