SEOUL, Korea (July 28, 2017) - Following the hugely successful World Taekwondo Championships, taekwondo fans all around the world have yet more breath-taking action to look forward to as the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series is set to get underway in Moscow, Russia on August 4-6, 2017.
Moscow is one of four world-class cities which will host a Grand Prix event in 2017 with Rabat, Morocco and London, UK to host Grand Prix Series events on September 22-24 and October 20-22 respectively, before the grand finale in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire in December.
The calibre of the four hosts reflects the demand from high-profile cities around the world to host World Taekwondo events. The Grand Prix Series in London will take place in the London 2012 venue, the Copperbox, and demonstrates the ongoing legacy of taekwondo’s very successful competition at the Olympic Games. While Rabat and Abidjan hosting two events will showcase the growing strength of taekwondo in Africa.
World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue said:

The World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series was launched by World Taekwondo in 2013 to provide the very best athletes with the opportunity to challenge themselves against one another on a regular basis. The annual series of competitions regularly provides some of the most exciting and spectacular taekwondo action of the year.
